Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house which has a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic cash flow doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from my nsfas households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the proper Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait click here until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to nsfas status check apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
